Every craft and every art form exists as part of a creative historical and cultural continuum. Whether one is engaged in music, painting, boat building, performance art, or stained glass windows, there is always a past, there is always a future and there are always the creative energies of the moment which go into shaping a work of art. An artist must in some sense dig his or her own well in order to draw on the vast visual resources of the world, and learns that any influence can be fresh and illuminating to the open heart and the discerning eye.
Brookside Glassworks is dedicated to real creativity and originality in glass art and believes the artistic potential of the medium remains underexplored. In pusuing our goals we work with rigorous craftsmanship, we attend to the communicative intent and architectural setting of a work, and we coordinate with our clients. We draw on our abilities, our past and our dreams, and hope not only to do the job well, but to share the joy of the creative endeavor.
And we dedicate ourselves equally to the conservation and restoration of the historic stained glass treasures to be found in our churches and synogogues.
"Thought is crude, material unimaginably subtle." Aldous Huxley
