VOS OMNES

detail of HARVEST
The Windows on this page show some key stylistic areas I have explored in designing with glass. I was first attracted to the work of L.C. Tiffany and John Lafarge,( HARVEST) but soon found myself drawn to the spare grace and bold colors of Japanese Art(KOI). This led me toward attempts at simple visual abstraction of a given theme. (WEAVE ME THE SUNSHINE).I also began exploring the history and particularly the gothic roots of window design. This is a style which can be seen in(LION, DOVE,..
....STARS). At this point I began to search for a fresh and personal approach. I decided to break from my customary creative process of first drawing the design and instead started to design with pieces of glass arranged on a light table. It sent me in a new direction of composing in a kind of collage of colors and images unified by a central theme or intuition (SOME FLY and details). This is a style which seems to fit me and in which I continue to work.
